I am still worried that maybe the complete hip surgery may have been the way to go for him instead of the fho surgery.
He is out of pain which was my goal of course and it will never come back so I am told. But, he has such a swish still when he walks and pretty clumsy still.
I know it is early yet and hopefullly these things will still take care of themselves with time and muscle growth.
Just something to think about if you have a larger dog like I do.
Research,Research,Research you have one chance.
Make sure that you make the right one for you and your loved pet.

We went out to a beach called Wisconsin point, and let Dakota play off his leash for the first time. He never once ran away, always stayed by us. He went in the water and fetched sticks (that we didn't throw out far at all). He thought he was in stick heaven!! He loves to chew on sticks and they were strewn all over the place. He didn't know where to start. He also got to dig, I always heard that retrievers love to dig but thank goodness he hasn't done it in our yard yet. Well, Heather started digging to make a sand castle, and he joined in. Oh lord it was the funniest thing ever. He started to dig and then he was spinning circles as he was digging deeper and deeper into the sand. She kept egging him on when he would quit. So, he would start all over again.Ava and I laughed so hard.Again, great when we get to see him be normal for a while. Then, we noticed his limping becoming worse, so we knew he was tired out and ready to go. Great times though had for all.On a personal note, no'one is adding to our funds for his surgery so that is still quite scary.
